BMW M4 Owner’s Guide

Power. That one word sums up the new M4 coupe from BMW. It’s the newest family member of the sporty M line, and it’s living up to its impressive predecessors. At German Auto Center we’ve gotten hands on M models in the past, and we’re looking forward to getting to know the M4 better. So far, here is what we’ve learned about BMW’s latest sport coupe.

Up front the driver and passenger enjoy seats that offer 4-way lumbar support and many other adjustable settings. Even the center armrest is can be adjusted.

The leather and cloth upholstery give the seating a sporty two-toned coloration, while the carbon fiber trim and black chrome accents really elevate the appearance inside. There are also a few practical features like the split fold-down backseats and one-touch controls on the steering wheel.

Common Problems, Service and Maintenance on the BMW M4

The M4 is one of BMW’s new models for 2015, so the jury is out on what owners can expect as far as repairs. However, if it is anything like the M3 sedan that came before it, these issues may come up miles down the road:

• Ruptured airbag inflators when the airbags are released
• Problematic double-clutch gear box
• Multiple power steering hoses failing
• Failure in the final stage fan resistor
• Thermostat failure

The M4 features an Expanded Check Control system to let drivers know when there’s a problem under the hood. However, drivers still need to investigate anything that sounds off or isn’t performing up to snuff. Our Bosch-authorized Austin BMW service center has worked on a number of M3s and we welcome any opportunity to work on the M4. Whether you need performance enhancements, regular maintenance or BMW repairs in Austin, German Auto Center is equipped to handle the job.
