Whether you drive a classic BMW 6-series from 1980 or a 2012 BMW 750Li, if you do not service your BMW’s windows at some point you will get stuck with your windows down  – and most likely at the most inopportune time.  Texas heat is brutal on the lubricants BMW uses in the window frames and window regulators of your BMW.   These lubricants start to harden and congeal causing your BMW window motors to work that much harder.  This causes the motors to ware out prematurely and the added pressure to snap plastic components within the window frame and regulator (also called the window transmission).  These repairs can cost you hundreds of dollars to repair the window frames, regulators and motors.  Do not wait for your BMW windows to fail.  A regular application of a simple silicon based lubricant into the window rails will help keep your BMW windows going up and down when you want them to.  Additionally, be sure to move all your windows up and down on a regular basis to keep the lubricants free – and do not forget those back or quarter windows.
